Susan is a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and is a Resident in Counseling pursuing her license in Professional Counseling in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health and Addictions Counseling from the College of William & Mary. She has experience working with children, adolescents, college students, adults, and anyone seeking help with a substance abuse issue. Susan utilizes a Person-centered and Strengths-based approach with a Systems focus and Motivational Interviewing. She has supported individuals diagnosed with ADHD, ODD, PTSD, anxiety, addictions, depression, and self-esteem related issues including self-harm and suicidal ideation. Susan deeply cares about the welfare of individuals seeking help and provides tools to facilitate change. In her capacity as a mental health professional, her intention is to connect you to the best of who you are while working with you to build healthy systems that support your total well-being.
